Care Resource and the Food-for-Life Network, Inc. are honored to announce their partnership with the 9 Mile Music Festival in together eliminating malnutrition and improving upon the health and overall quality of life of South Florida’s communities in need over the holidays.

In addition to the purchases of concert tickets for the 9 Mile Music Festival happening March 11, 2017, an event that will feature performances by reggae icons Julian Marley, Capleton, Sizzla and more, concert-goers must first donate four non-perishable food items such as beans, grits, pastas or cans of vegetables to the Food For Life Network’s food bank located on the second floor of Care Resource’s midtown Miami office located at 3510 Biscayne Boulevard. After the donation, the concert attendee will receive a token showing that the donation was made, to show at the entrance of the concert.

To further promote this initiative and to kick off the food-drive, Julian Marley, son of reggae legend Bob Marley and Grammy award nominated, roots-reggae musician, singer-songwriter and producer already made his first donation where he was joined by Richard Booker, Bob Marley’s Brother and Director of Nine Mile Festival.  According to Marley, “Together we can make a difference for those who are less fortunate. United we stand, divided we fall.”

“Food-for-Life Network, Inc. serves between 30-99 clients a day. Grocery packages are provided free of charge for our clients. Each one contains seven days’ worth of food. Home delivered meals and groceries are available for those who qualify. Clients with dependent children are provided additional food items to allow them to feed their dependent children, ensuring adequate food for the HIV infected parent.” – Valjean Brookins, Food Services Supervisor with the Food for Life Network.

“At Care Resource, we are most inspired by the ability to bring much needed services to vulnerable families and individuals. Our dedicated providers go the extra mile each day to be welcoming, thorough and compassionate as they improve health care in our community.
