Summer means being on-the-go, enjoying the hot weather, and—likely—a less-than-predictable schedule. Planning ahead and incorporating healthy snacks are great ways to make sure you stay on track with maintaining your weight loss when life is busy. For most people, a healthy balanced diet and regular daily activity are just enough to maintain oneself at a current weight. The prevalence of obesity is greater than 30% in the Valley. For these individuals, maintaining their current weight or gaining weight may lead to a cascade of health problems.
Contrary to common belief, these root vegetables are quite versatile and can be prepared in a variety of ways. So even if boiled beets aren’t your favorite, you can still incorporate this healthy food in your weekly menu by roasting or juicing them.
